The Syrian president has begun his much-anticipated speech. This is the first time in almost six decades that a Syrian leader has addressed the General Assembly.
Syria’s leader begins speech saying the “Syrian story is filled with emotions, and it mixes pain with hope”.
“The Syrian story is a story of struggle between good and evil,” he added.
Al-Sharaa’s first address to the UN since the fall of Bashar al-Assad has proved to be relatively brief.
