NHL goaltenders produced pure chaos in the crease this week — and Week 9 delivered some of the wildest sequences we’ve seen all season.
Linus Ullmark recovered from an initial high shot to make a second save, then later delivered a highlight-reel diving stop before heading to the bench for an extra attacker. Scott Wedgewood went full extension to deny Kiefer Sherwood on the breakaway, and Spencer Knight stood tall with a pair of massive saves: a 2-on-1 stop against Vegas and a calm 2-on-0 denial versus Los Angeles.
Jake Oettinger sprawled out to rob Luke Glendening, and Eric Comrie went lights out in Montreal with three huge stops against the Canadiens.
Sergei Bobrovsky read Filip Forsberg’s “Michigan” attempt perfectly, and Dustin Wolf teamed with Nazem Kadri for a wild scorpion-style sequence to deny Marcus Johansson.
Ville Husso made two outstanding stops against Washington — including a denial of Alex Ovechkin — while Carolina’s red-hot Brandon Bussi showed off his athleticism to kick away a floating Predators chance.
Pyotr Kochetkov shut down Dellandrea of the Sharks, and John Gibson delivered a clutch pad extension to rob Jake DeBrusk at the doorstep.
