The European Union has announced it will be providing financial assistance worth up to $1.8bn to aid Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The two-year package will directly assist the Palestinian Authority and support the private sector.
The initiative will also aid in recovering and stabilising the occupied West Bank and Gaza.
The EU is the biggest provider of external assistance to the Palestinians.
