US President Donald Trump says a Gaza ceasefire deal is “pretty close,” as Benjamin Netanyahu makes his fourth White House visit.
The war on Gaza nears its second year, with Washington under pressure to broker peace.
Trump has ruled out Israeli annexation of the West Bank, despite past plans involving US control of Gaza.
He also revealed direct talks with Iran, surprising Netanyahu during a previous visit.
Netanyahu insists Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons, hinting at military action if talks fail.
Despite US backing, Trump ordered Israeli jets to halt after a ceasefire was announced in the Iran conflict.
Global condemnation followed Netanyahu’s unprecedented strike on Doha, leaving him increasingly isolated.
