Millions of people in South Korea are voting for a new president after months of political chaos.
The snap election has been triggered by the impeachment of conservative leader Yoon Suk Yeol.
Large crowds rallied to either denounce or support Yoon, before his removal from office in April, five months after he failed in a bid to impose martial law.
Yoon still faces charges of rebellion.
There are around 44 million eligible voters, and a record turnout is expected.
The election is held in a single round over three days.
The candidate with the most votes wins and serves a five-year term.
Polls suggest Lee Jae Myung from the Democratic Party is in the lead, followed by Kim Moon Soo from the People Power Party.
The next president faces big challenges, including reviving the economy, managing US trade tensions and addressing South Korea’s record-low birth rate.
